Job Burnout Recovery
The focus of my academic research deals with how people recover from job burnout. So far, the data suggests that the burnout recovery experience involves:
- a recovery process,
- an existential shift,
- a sense of empowerment,
- increase in self-referencing, and
- relationship change.
Findings of this research imply that the chronic distress that is experienced through burnout can turn into a positive precursor for growth. This research also suggests that an experience of increased efficacy is integral to job burnout recovery.
